Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information this site holds, why it holds it, and what your

choices are. It covers the public website, the admin area used to run the society, and the

on-course scoring app.

Who this covers

The Legs Open is a golf society. Most of the personal information here relates to members who

play in the championship.

What we publish about players

A player profile shows a name, photograph, country, playing handicaps, biography, appearance

history and round-by-round scores. Age is shown only where a date of birth has been recorded and

the player has not asked for it to be hidden. All of this is visible to anyone visiting the site.

If you play in the championship and want something corrected or removed, tell us and we will

change it.

Scoring

During a round, the scorer for each group signs in with a PIN issued for that group. We record the

scores entered, when they were saved, and which group they came from. Scores are kept as part of

the championship record.

What the site collects automatically

Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, to keep the site running

and secure. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking of any kind. There is no Google

Analytics, no advertising pixel and no third-party profiling anywhere on this site.

Who else handles the data

The site runs on Vercel (hosting), with the database and live updates on Supabase, images in

Vercel Blob storage, and account emails such as password resets sent through Resend. Course

information comes from the UK Golf Course Data API and weather from Open-Meteo; neither receives

any personal information. These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use

it for their own purposes.

Embedded content

Where a Live Blog entry includes an Instagram post, Instagram's own embed loads from instagram.com

and Instagram may set its own cookies. That happens only on pages showing an embedded post.

How long we keep it

Championship results and player records are kept indefinitely, as the society's history. A

scorer's session ends when the round does.

Your choices

You can ask to see what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it removed. Removing a player

profile does not remove them from historic results, which are a record of what actually happened.
